In October 2010, the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Institute (DEDI) has helped expand knowledge of the contemporary reform process in the Arab world through a group of Danish core actors engaged in professional partnerships with peers in the region.
The project “Danish Arab X-Change” (also known as “the DEDI Winter School”) consisted of a 5-day training course in Cairo organized by the Institute. During the course, the participants heard lectures and presentations, were offered film screenings and engaged in discussions about reforms and dialogue in the contemporary Arab world.
The activities were organized around five key themes that the participants were working within: political and fundamental rights; religion and social change; corporate social responsibility; gender justice; and new media, art, and youth mobilization.
DEDI’s project team consisted of Rune Friberg Lyme and Noel Bonam.
Participants
