Since 2005 the Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Institute has supported and implemented activities aiming at promoting alternative and critical thinking in Europe and in the Arab World.

In 2008, the Institute launched the program entitled “Promoting Alternative and Critical Thinking”. The aim of the program is to promote alternative and critical reflection on cultural and political issues relevant to European and Arab societies and in particular for Denmark and Egypt.

 

The program is based on the idea that alternative and critical thinking contributes to establishing and upholding an open and progressive society. The program involves a broad spectrum of intellectuals who participate in forming and challenging public ideas and opinions such as scholars, writers, teachers, artists, journalists, policy makers, and others.
