Between the 16th of January and 14th of March, 2015, the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Institute, (DEDI) hosted and organized a Training-of-Trainers seminar, wherein CEFP participants received intensive training on the subjects and topics covered in the schools.
The trainers who participated were Dr. Saleh El Sheikh, Professor of Local administration & Public Policy at Cairo University, who taught both the Local Administration and Public Policy Modules, Dr. Raafat Radwan, Professor at the American University in Cairo who taught Active Participation, Dr. Safwat El Alem, Professor of Media & Communications at Cairo University who provided the Media training, Mr. Mohamed Agati, Director of the Arab Forum for Alternatives, who covered the program’s Democracy Module, and Ms.Gihan Abdel Salam, Teaching Assistant at Cairo University, whose training focused on Economics and Budgeting. In addition, a final, two-day training session was held, wherein Dr.Maha El Said, Professor at Cairo University and Education Consultant, instructed the trainees on Teaching Skills and Pedagogy.
The trainees included 15 participants from the Egyptian Democracy Academy, (EDA) and the Cairo Center for Human Development, (CCHD), the partner organizations responsible for implementing the activities of the CEFP program in Cairo and El Monufiya Governorates respectively.
